Individual Coaching

Financially smart studying

The financial support that you can receive during your study relies on your situation. For students who are not from the Netherlands, there is a high variety of different situations that each have their own rules applied to it. Therefore it is difficult to give a general guideline or advice.

Student councillors know of all the different situations and rules. They are in a good position to give you advice specifically tailored to your situation.

In order to get in touch with a student counsellor, you can contact Istudent:

Help with writing, summarizing and reading (Kurzweil)

Students who need support during their study (in making summaries, reading or writing) can make use of an online aplication called Kurzweil 3000. This is available for all students at Fontys, also in English.

You can download the tool and start using it. To use Kurzweil you need permission of the exam board.

Next to Kurtzweil we also have coaches who can help with language challenges.

Please send an email to Student+ to receive more information.

Peer2Peer Project*

Do you have trouble programming, dealing with EDB or how to solve the math problem? Would you like to have some support and extra explanation regarding PCS, EDB or Math? Would you prefer to receive help from a student instead of a teacher? Or are you the one who is really good at programming, EDB or Math and like to explain this to peers? Are you looking for a challenge during your study and does helping other students give you extra energy?

The Peer2Peer Project is a project in which student help each other with difficulties in PCS, EDB or Math. A student will help another student with a specific problem regarding these subjects. This can be congenial to prepare yourself for an exam or just to increase your knowledge and skill of programming, EDB or Math.

Peer2Peer is being ran by student organisation Proxy. You can reach them via their Facebook page

Student psychologists

If you are experiencing difficulties in your student life and wish to talk them through with someone, you can contact one of the student psychologists at Fontys.

You can talk to the student psychologists about a variety of topics (see below). A problem does not need to be extensive before a psychologist can work with you. Possible subjects of discussion are:

  • Lack of concentration

  • Putting off study

  • Lack of self-confidence / fear of failure

  • Low self-esteem

  • Lack of social contacts

  • Anger, fear or panic

Intervisie groep stage

  • Vrijdag, 15:00 – 16:00 uur, start 11 september
